His 2021 single “Traffic Light” topped the Gaon Digital Chart for three weeks and became a lasting hit. He followed with consistent releases, including the 2022 EP Room Vol.1 and 2024’s Youth, while hosting the popular KBS YouTube series LeeMujin Service, where he interviews fellow artists in a relaxed, guitar-driven format. His acoustic-leaning folk-pop style and straightforward songwriting have built a loyal domestic following that values sincerity over spectacle.Global listeners may not fully grasp the business side of Korean entertainment contracts. Lee signed with Big Planet Made Entertainment in early 2022. By 2025-2026 he alleged the company had failed to pay settlement amounts totaling more than 2.1 billion won (roughly $1.5 million) covering several quarters. He notified the agency of termination, won a court injunction suspending the contract, and later received a favorable ruling confirming the contract’s invalidity.

Other artists under the same parent company, One Hundred Label, have faced similar payment disputes. In July he signed with a new imprint under Mound Media; Question Note is the result. The name and visual identity are meant to invite curiosity about artists’ stories and future work rather than simply releasing music.Fans and industry watchers have largely welcomed the move as a long-overdue reset. Online reactions highlight relief that he can now create without the earlier financial uncertainty, with many expressing anticipation for whatever comes next under the new banner.

Supporters point to his track record of steady chart presence and genuine on-camera presence as reasons the next phase should feel freer and more intentional.
