Fifth-generation girl group RESCENE claimed first place with a brand reputation index of 10,181,185 up 27.65 percent from July. BTS followed in second at 9,495,066, while trot star Lim Young-woong took third with 7,245,030. The ranking drew from more than 213 million pieces of big data collected between July 29 and August 29, covering participation, media, communication, and community metrics across entertainers, singers, actors, and athletes. Institute director Gu Chang-hwan credited RESCENE’s “syndrome-level fandom” that has consumers actively joining the group’s story.

For global fans less familiar with the Korean domestic charts, RESCENE’s rise stands out as an underdog success. The five-member group Woni, Liv, Minami, May, and Zena debuted in March 2024 under the small agency The Muze Entertainment with the single album Re:Scene. Their concept blends “scene” and “scent,” aiming to leave lasting impressions the way a fragrance does.

Momentum built slowly until mid-2026, when leader Woni’s personal YouTube channel went viral and pulled their 2024 track “Love Attack” back onto Melon charts, eventually earning music-show wins nearly two years after release. A July remake of KARA’sPretty Girl” brought further first-place trophies and steady streaming. The group also performed at KCON LA 2026, collected two awards at the recent K World Dream Awards, and secured promotional ambassadorships for several Korean cities. Album sales have climbed steadily with each release, marking one of the clearer breakthroughs for a non-Big Four agency act this generation.

International reactions poured in quickly once the ranking circulated. Fans on X celebrated the group overtaking household names, with comments highlighting the “RESCENE syndrome” and REMINE fandom’s consistent streaming and voting efforts. Many pointed to the reverse-run success of “Love Attack” and the group’s recent stage wins as proof that organic growth still works. Others noted Woni’s individual brand strength and the multinational lineup’s appeal, calling the result a milestone for fifth-generation acts outside the major labels.

RESCENE’s next moves will be watched closely as the group continues building on this domestic peak.
