In a welcome development for K-pop fans, ILLIT member Moka is making her long-awaited return to promotional activities, albeit with careful limitations as she continues her recovery journey.

BELIFT LAB, the agency behind the rising girl group, confirmed today that Moka has received medical approval to resume work “within a manageable scope.” The announcement comes roughly a month after the 20-year-old idol stepped back from all group commitments in mid-April, right on the eve of ILLIT’s highly anticipated comeback with their fourth mini album, MAMIHLAPINATAPAI.

According to the official statement, Moka’s decision to rejoin her bandmates stems from her personal determination to connect with fans before the current promotion cycle wraps up. She is scheduled to appear with ILLIT on today’s episode of Music Bank, marking her first stage presence in weeks.

We are pleased to announce that ILLIT member Moka will be joining the final week of music show promotions,” the agency shared. “Moka has been focusing on her recovery while undergoing treatment and rest.”

Hello, this is BELIFT LAB.

We are pleased to announce that ILLIT member Moka will be joining the final week of music show promotions.

Moka has been focusing on her recovery while undergoing treatment and rest, and has recently received medical clearance to resume activities within a manageable scope. In particular, the artist strongly expressed her wish to return to the stage and meet fans once again before the conclusion of promotions for the 4th mini album “MAMIHLAPINATAPAI.” Accordingly, Moka will resume activities beginning with today’s “Music Bank” performance.

However, as the artist’s health remains our top priority, please understand that certain scheduled activities may be subject to change depending on her condition. In addition, Moka will not be participating in the “2026 Weverse Con Festival” on Saturday, June 6, as she was unable to take part in rehearsals.

We sincerely thank all the fans who have patiently awaited Moka’s recovery and shown her warm support. We will continue to do our utmost to ensure that Moka can greet fans in good health.

Thank you. “

This cautious approach reflects lessons learned from Moka’s earlier health challenges. In October 2025, she had already sat out a major music festival in Indonesia due to physical fatigue, signaling an ongoing need for careful management.

That said, not all events are on the table yet. Moka will skip the upcoming 2026 Weverse Con Festival on June 6, as she was unable to participate in rehearsals. BELIFT LAB stressed that other scheduled activities could still shift depending on her condition, underscoring that her well-being remains the top priority.

ILLIT, the HYBE-backed quintet known for their fresh concept and strong discography, have been promoting MAMIHLAPINATAPAI as a four-member unit in Moka’s absence. Her partial return injects fresh energy into the final stretch, potentially boosting fan excitement and chart performance in these closing days.

The K-pop industry continues to grapple with the physical and mental demands placed on young idols. Moka’s situation highlights the importance of sustainable career pacing and responsive agency support. Fans have rallied online with messages of encouragement, trending supportive hashtags since the initial hiatus announcement.

As Moka steps back into the spotlight, the broader community watches with hope. Her story serves as a reminder that behind the polished performances are real individuals who occasionally need space to heal.

We wish Moka a smooth and complete recovery as she rejoins ILLIT on stage.
